Whirlpool opens new HQ in Milan

Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni recently opened the new headquarters of Whirlpool EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) in Milan.

Whirlpool EMEA is an operating segment of Whirlpool Corporation, which markets the brands Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Consul, Brastemp, Amana, Bauknecht, Jenn-Air, Indesit and Hotpoint in nearly every country throughout the world.

The new building will accommodate more than 600 employees from 28 countries.

Whirlpool EMEA president and Whirlpool Corporation executive vice president Esther Berrozpe Galindo said: “The Prime Minister’s visit is a great honour for us at a very important time for Whirlpool EMEA in Italy.

“In addition to the new headquarters, in the last few years we have invested $500 million in product innovation, state of the art industrial processes and ongoing training for our employees.”

Whirlpool EMEA also opened ‘The World of Whirlpool’: a new flagship showroom in Milan to showcase its home appliance technology and design.

The 500 sq m showroom displays over 150 products from the Whirlpool Corporation’s four major European brands: KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Hotpoint and Indesit.

The area aims to be ‘more than a shop window’, placing a focus on providing ‘edutainment’. A highlight is show kitchens that play host to a variety of cooking demonstrations.

Whirlpool EMEA vice president of products and brands Norb Schmidt explained “‘The World of Whirlpool’ is an exciting space where we can share the experience of our brands and products. The environment has been conceived as an immersive experience that allows guests to explore, live and experience our brands’ products through interactive content, cooking and ‘edutainment’ activities.”

Each Whirlpool brand has a dedicated zone displaying a selection of its key products such as the KitchenAid section, which includes KitchenAid’s new Iconic Fridge.
