Watson Home Hardware of Sutton on Sea has won this year’s Home Hardware Christmas window dressing competition.

Watson Home Hardware Christmas window wins again

This is the third consecutive year that the Lincolnshire shop has scooped the top prize of £100-worth of vouchers, which went to Lennie Watson. The second prize of £50 in vouchers went to Craig Snape of Snapes Household in Cheadle Hume.

The independent panel of judges took into account window content, layout, use of props, use of point-of-sale material, lighting and overall maintenance of displays. All Home Hardware retailers were invited to participate in the competition.

Commenting on the results, Home Hardware marketing manager Beverley Wood said: “This year’s standard of entries was very high. The panel had a hard decision in selecting a winner but Watson’s eye-catching window displays had the edge.

“The many props Watson’s used included a life-size waving Father Christmas and sleigh featuring Home Hardware Christmas promotion, Father Christmas’ tool shed and a cheeky reindeer to grab passers-by attention. The theme was further enhanced by bespoke 3 for 2 signs and artificial snow”.

Watson Home Hardware owner Robert Watson said it had “taken Lennie and staff approximately two weeks of working late into the evening to create our displays, plus time spent making and acquiring props. We’re very proud of our efforts and have received numerous compliments from customers”.
