The nation’s ten favourite desserts have been revealed in an exclusive survey by supermarket chain Waitrose.
Cheesecake tops the list of preferred puddings, followed by apple pie, fruit crumble, chocolate fudge cake, banoffee pie, black forest gateau, sticky toffee pudding, crème brulee, chocolate brownie and bread & butter pudding.
The findings, reported in the June 28 issue of Waitrose Weekend magazine, show that puddings ‘mum and granny used to make’ were the most popular choices.
Waitrose Weekend said: “Evocative memories of family and childhood were recalled, with fighting with a sibling for the skin of the rice pudding and being taught how to make a pud the most mentioned.”
