Uutensil showcased in Ideal Home Show at Christmas’ Smart Home

A busy year for kitchenware brand üutensil was rounded off by an appearance at the Ideal Home Show at Christmas 2016.

The organiser of the five-day consumer exhibition, which ran from November 23 to November 27 at Olympia in London, selected üutensil’s Stirr automatic pan stirrer and Skåler weighing balance spoon to feature in its Ideal Smart Home.

Visitors were invited to tour this gadget-filled display home to check out the latest gadgets and technology on the market in a home environment, and see how they can be integrated into their own lives.

Other products in the kitchen section of the Ideal Smart Home included Bowhead Technology Gululu’s Smart Bottle, described as the world’s first interactive bottle for children, with digital content tailor-made for kids; SmartyPans smart cooking pans, that sense the weight and temperature of ingredients as you cook; the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder, which recognises a pet’s unique microchip number or RFID collar tag, opening only for them; and the Ikawa Home Coffee Roaster, with a selection of coffee beans and roast recipes, which allows you to roast coffee at home, controlled by your phone.

Both the üutensil products are award-winners in their own right: Stirr has the prestigious Red Dot design award, while Skåler has added to its own Red Dot accolade with ‘Best Kitchen or Household Product’ Gold in the House Beautiful 2016 awards.

Uutensil founder Gavin Reay said: “We were thrilled to be chosen for the Christmas Smart Home, on top of our other achievements this year. The Christmas Smart Home focuses on must-have gadgets and innovative technology so it was a real honour to be chosen.  “We’ve had a busy year, including starting to work successfully with PHA KitchEssentials to distribute our products to the independent trade. We’re looking forward to another great year in 2017!”

Amy Turner, event & exhibition features co-ordinator at Media 10, which organised the Ideal Home Show at Christmas, said: “Stirr and Skåler embody all that the Christmas Smart Home stands for: simple, clever, usable technology.

“Stirr worked particularly well, as the presenter was able to show how he could leave it to stir whilst he continued the presentation. We strive to find gadgets and technologies that not only enhance the visitors’ lifestyle but aim to make it easier. Stirr and Skåler certainly do both.”
