Kitchenware supplier üutensil has won the Red Dot Award for Skåler, its 3-in-1 weighing tool.
Skåler was selected by a panel of 41 judges in a record-breaking year with over 5,200 products entered from 57 countries. The jury bestows the Red Dot seal of quality to products that stand out based on innovation, functionality, quality, ergonomics and durability.
Skåler is described by üutensil as ‘the new way to weigh’ because it allows the user to scoop, measure and mix with one tool. The user sets the weight, scoops the ingredients and balances. The scoop has a measuring guide in ml and US cups, sits level on the worktop and is dishwasher-safe.
Gavin Reay, designer and founder of üutensil, said: “Skåler is the latest in our range of multi-functional kitchen tools, combining volume measure, weighing and mixing in one handy spoon. The idea for this robust, intuitive design was that ingredients can be weighed with the same spoon you are mixing and stirring with. And most importantly, it goes straight into the dishwasher when finished.”
üutensil is a British company known for its Red Dot award winning automatic stirrer ‘stirr’ and its Design Museum exhibited masher ‘spudnik’. The üutensil range comprises more than 20 products, with new launches promised this Summer.
