Typhoon's Peter Battersby to work with Rayware

Rayware bought Typhoon last month after the company went into administration for the second time.

Speaking to HousewaresLive.net, Battersby said he would be working with Rayware for the foreseeable future, concentrating on the Typhoon brand, developing exports and working with both the key independents and multiples.

“It’s our specific intention to maintain and nurture the creative design and brand values that Typhoon demonstrated over many years,” he said.

He added that several members of the product development team would remain with the Typhoon brand to ensure continuity of its look and styling.

Rayware is also in negotiations with other key members of the Typhoon team, and expects to make more announcements on recruitment in the next few weeks.

“Key to the ongoing success of the brand will be stock availability,” Battersby went on. “Rayware are already working on this issue and are investing significant time and resources to obtain and maintain full stock availability.”

He said there would be a significant product launch in the spring: “Exciting new concepts are already underway for what promises to be a positive new start.”
