Trends focus is key fixture of Spring Fair speaker line-up

The speaker line-up has been finalised for the Spring Fair, which runs from February 3 to February 7 at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre.

Organiser ITE Group said designated stages at the event will play host to presentations from several industry leaders across retail sectors including experts from Louis Vuitton, Green and Blacks and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

In addition, the show will include presentations from fashion commentator and TV presenter Caryn Franklin MBE; author and journalist Marc Priestly; shopping editor of ‘Ideal Home’ magazine Tamara Kelly; author, strategy consultant and former Gossard ceo Mark Pilkington; and managing director of Unique Style Platform Jane Kellock.

ITE Group said: ‘For all exhibitors and visitors, finding out what’s set to take the retail sector by storm throughout 2019 is essential. That’s why Spring Fair is continuing its commitment to bring together the best and brightest from the retail industry, with an emphasis on explaining the trends landscape across gift, fashion and interiors for 2019 and beyond.

Cate spends her time observing, visiting and working with world-leading retailers and Insider Trends helps well-known brands get ahead of their competitors. At the show, Cate will highlight key retail trends, before suggesting practical ways to quickly and affordably act on them.

Colour & material trend forecast for Spring Summer 2020 (The Main Stage, February 3, 3:15-4pm)

Sam Donnachie, Executive Creative Director of Colour Hive, MIX Magazine

Colour Hive, the trend and colour expert behind MIX Magazine, will present a seminar profiling four key colour stories for Spring Summer 2020; Idyll, Kinship, Mask and Parade.

The rise of the ethical consumer and adapting to the growth of the green economy (The Main Stage, February 3 1:15- 1:45pm and February 7, 10-11am)

Jeremy Corner, Founder of Blue Eyed Sun & Chairman of the Gift Association

Jeremy will provide insight on understanding the ethical consumer, the learning curve for ethical products and services, and how you can authentically reflect the trend in your store.

From catwalk to table: How do you translate trends to home interiors? (The Main Stage, February 6, 2:15-2:45pm)

Laura Spencer, Head of Studio Design, Ashley Wilde

Laura will discuss how to strike the right balance between what’s on trend and what will sell to mass market consumers when creating a home line for a fashion brand.
