Top turnout for Exclusively Housewares

The Exclusively Housewares show attracted “the very best” housewares retailers from across the UK and Europe, according to organiser Brooke House Exhibitions.
Held at the Business Design Centre in London from June 12-13, the event featured 122 exhibitors which, Brooke House Exhibitions says, is the largest concentration of housewares suppliers at any UK trade show.

This year there were 13 new exhibitors, some of which were brands coming into the show under new UK management such as Le Pentole and Tescoma (with Forma House), aerolatte (with Eddingtons), Burleigh Pottery (Denby) and Tenzo (Premier Housewares). The eight other exhibitors were first-timers in their own right: BSH Home Appliances, Brewed By Hand, Eurosonic, Guzzini, Graef UK, NordicWare, Rubbermaid Home Products and PHA KitchEssentials.

Visitors to the show covered the whole retail spectrum, from cookshops, mail order firms, TV shopping channels, grocery chains, hardware stores, garden centres, gift shops snf department stores to internet companies. The event also attracted interest from licensing and brand agencies keen to do more work with housewares and tabletop suppliers.

Buyers attended from more than 20 countries, with Ireland, France, Spain and the US leading the way. Delegates also travelled from Denmark, Poland and Italy and as far afield as Russia, Australia, Canada and Hong Kong.

Show director Simon Boyd said: “In a year when we did certainly not expect to see visitor numbers increase, we are delighted that this year, they are on par with 2011, which is our best year to date.”

Exclusively Housewares is organised by Brooke House Exhibitions, part of the British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA). The 2013 event will run from June 11-12 at the Business Design Centre in London.
