The cake decorating supplier said: “We’ve had sombre and monochrome tones; now it’s all about cakes in one colour all over, with the decoration matching the base icing colour exactly.

“Block-colour cakes featuring perfectly co-ordinated colour detail such as piped line work, dots and lettering give an embossed effect that’s perfect for weddings and any event where you want to tie the whole theme together.”

Squires Kitchen claims that this one-colour technique “is easy to achieve” with its Instant Mix Royal Icing, which now comes in a selection of new colours that co-ordinate with the SK Ready-to-Roll Sugarpaste range.

Available in Ballerina Pink, Lullaby Blue, Frosted Leaf, Bridal Rose, Delicate Lemon and Glamour Red, this instant mix icing is ready-coloured and made with pure albumen and the finest cane sugar for professional results.
