BBC1 TV series The Great British Bake Off’ will be back on the small screen on Wednesday August 24.
This will be the seventh series of the show, in which 12 home bakers compete to be crowned the UK’s Best Amateur Baker.
Over the course of 10 hour-long episodes, the series follows the trials and tribulations of the competitors, as they attempt to prove their baking prowess. Each week the bakers tackle a different baking skill, which become progressively more difficult as the competition unfolds.
The programme is presented by Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, while master bakers Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry are co-judges.
Meanwhile, BBC Worldwide has announced new deals for format sales in Poland, including ‘The Great Bake Off’. The format has so far been licensed to 21 countries and is one of the BBC’s hits in the UK, with a television audience of 15 million viewers.
