The cake decorating and sugarcraft manufacturer said: ‘It’s all about presentation for the party season – from a dusting of sparkle to a gold-leaf covered Christmas cake.’ Its top trends for winter 2014 cakes and bakes include: candy colours (‘break with tradition and use sweetie shades of sugarpaste and sugar florist paste’); bling (‘add sparkle with edible lustre dusts, sugar diamonds and fairy sprinkles’); metallics (‘the height of cake couture and what all the best-dressed cakes are wearing this season’) such as edible gold and silver leaf transfer sheets, metallic dusts and edible pain and ‘folksy’ patterns (‘add texture and cute vintage prints to cake tops and sides with sugarpaste, paint colours and stencils’).

Squires Kitchen commented: ‘Traditional Christmas puddings, cakes and chocolate logs are festive favourites, but why not mix it up this year with a Christmas tree centrepiece made with Cocoform modelling chocolate?’ This alternative Christmas cake design (pictured) also features Designer Metallic Gold Sparkles Lustre Dust Food Colour, the Iris Star Designer Great Impressions Mould by Sarah Joyce, Belgian Couverture Chocolate, Edible Gold Leaf Transfer Sheets, Sugarpaste and Sugar Florist Paste, all by Squires Kitchen.

Established nearly 30 years ago, Squires Kitchen manufactures over 2,000 own-brand products and supplies the cake decorating and sugarcraft market worldwide.
