Spontex joins BHETA

Spontex is the latest housewares brand to join The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA).

Created in France in 1932, the name Spontex is an amalgamation of the words ‘sponge’ and ‘textile’. The brand began when it designed the world’s very first cellulose sponge.

Now based in Worcester, Spontex bills itself as the UK’s number one branded manufacturer of cleaning tools and gloves. Its product range includes cloths, sponges, scourers and mops.

BHETA housewares sector director Will Jones said: “Spontex is a long-established and iconic brand and we’re very proud to have the company on board.”
