Spode celebrates landmark anniversary

British tableware manufacturer Spode is set to unveil a brand new collection this spring, to commemorate 200 years of its Blue Italian design.

The Giallo range is described as a modern interpretation of the Blue Italian pattern with a a yellow patterned border featuring the blue and white scenes for which Blue Italian is known for.

Made in Portmeirion Group’s factory in the heart of Staffordshire, Giallo comprises a nine-piece tableware range including a three-piece dinner set, dinner plate, salad plate, rimmed soup bowl, mug, round platter, salad bowl, platter and sandwich tray.

Phil Atherton, sales and marketing director of Portmeirion Group, said: “Over the last two centuries, Blue Italian has become a world favourite and we are honoured to be able to celebrate its continued success with the launch of a fantastic new range that is made at our Stoke-on-Trent factory. We have no doubt that Giallo will capture the hearts of new and existing Spode fans everywhere, just as Blue Italian has, and will be enjoyed by them for years to come.”

Portmeirion Group will be launching this highly anticipated collection in February. It will be showcased at Spring Fair (Hall 9, E30-31) and Ambiente (Hall 4.1, Stand B16).
