The artist explained: “It’s such an honour to be at this very special British event, and to win an award makes all the hard work worthwhile. Our new Rose collection is proving to be particularly popular.”

This year the internationally-renowned Chelsea Flower Show (which ran from May 21 to May 25) celebrated its centenary, having been held in the grounds of the Chelsea Hospital since 1913. It is Britain’s most prestigious flower show with exhibits from foreign countries as well as from Britain.

Sophie’s Stamford-based family business, called Sophie Allport, produces fine bone china, kitchen textiles, oilcloth and stationery inspired by her love of nature and the countryside. The Rose Collection is available to buy now.
