Snow hits Christmas sales at Next

The retailer says that the bad weather resulted in a loss of 2.2% of total festive season sales, with like-for-like sales down 6.1% between August and Christmas Eve.

Despite the setback, Next’s profits are expected to rise by up to 10% in the year to the end of January, and the company predicts that price rises in 2011 could be countered by an expansion of retail space and the Directory business.
