Australian homewares retailer Howards Storage World opened its first UK store on Saturday.
In Livingston, West Lothian, it is set to kick off a programme of several hundred launches in the UK.
The business, which has some 65 stores in Australia, sells a huge range of storage products and systems for rooms across the home, including the kitchen.
Howards Storage World is going down the franchise route to realise its expansion plans, which also extend across Europe. According to the Telegraph, over 200 of the planned 500 European stores have already been confirmed with the signing of franchise deals in the UK and Ireland, along with Benelux and Scandinavia. It also has its sights set on France, Germany and Italy.
