Sarah Golden named BIRA marketing director

Golden has nearly 10 years’ experience with the association, having worked her way up through the organisation to become the first female director appointed in the group’s 112-year history.

She will be responsible for BIRA’s marketing strategies across the whole group, building awareness of the new BIRA name and supporting all areas of the group with marketing communications.

Golden said it was an “exciting time in the evolution of the association…We have huge potential for growth, and I’m up for the challenge.”

The new BIRA corporate identity, overseen and developed by Golden with Midlands-based Wyatt International, has reached the finals in the Cream Midlands Awards for design and creativity in marketing.

BIRA has also announced the appointment of Keith Christian – already director of the BAGMA division – as director of training, and Anthony McCarrick as the association’s first national membership sales manager as it sets out to make big gains in the independent retail market.
