Sales up at John Lewis at home stores

Despite ever-challenging weather, John Lewis has today reported “another great week’s trade” for the week to June 16, with sales up 11.5% to £63.58m.
More than half of branches saw increases on last year. Topping the table with double figures were three John Lewis at home branches: Poole, with sales up 29.3%, Croydon at 22.1%, Tunbridge Wells at 20.3%

Electricals & Home Technology led the way at 34%, followed by Home at 8.7% and Fashion at 1%. For Home, the top performing category was Home Accessories and Gifts at 18.3%. “Helping drive this result is the continued success and popularity of our Jubilee assortment,” said John Lewis director of selling operations David Barford.

He added: “As we move into this week, our Clearance in both shops and online should provide a compelling offer for our customers.”
