Lakeland has reported a 70% rise in sales of pineapple prepping tools in April compared with the previous month.
The housewares chain predicts that ‘pineapple mash’ is set to be huge this summer, as avocado lovers look for the next trend in cooking.
He retailer notes that mashed pineapple is trending amongst foodies online, with dishes including pineapple and sweet potato mash, pineapple banana cake and even pineapple hot cross buns gracing tables.
Lakeland kitchenware buyer Kathryn Farrell said: “Our Pineapple Slicer and Wedger has been a customer favourite for years, simply because it makes a difficult job so much easier.
