Sales of Home Hardware Southwest’s 2009 Christmas brochures and leaflets increased by 18% on a like-for-like basis.
During November, Home Hardware retailers collectively distributed over 1,200,000 of the consumer promotion publications.
The festive Sparkling Gifts campaign featured small electricals, cookware, gadgets, tableware and party accessories, along with games, remote control toys, birdcare, tools and fireside. To encourage greater customer spend, the brochure promoted a three-for-two offer.
The dealer-owned wholesaler said that sales of a selected range of traditional toys proved particularly successful and helped increase customer footfall.
Home Hardware marketing manager Beverley Wood said: “Our promotional brochure style and content appeals to independent retailers. Our promotions significantly increase customer footfall and retail sales.”
