Rosebys attracts ‘significant interest’

The joint administrators of the Rosebys group of companies say they have received 45 expressions of interest in the business.
However, they have closed 10 of the home textile retail chain’s outlets, making 60 people redundant.

Thirty-two redundancies have also been made at the head office and within merchandising positions.

Howard Smith, joint administrator at KPMG Restructuring, said: “There has been significant interest in this business, though a deliverable deal has not yet proved possible. We continue to seek offers for the whole or any part of the business and are in discussions with a number of interested parties.

“Closing some of the poorer performing outlets has been unavoidable to ensure trading remains at profitable levels.”

The outlets that have been closed are: Glasgow, Sauchiehall Street; Glasgow Forge; Dunstable; Basildon; Swindon; Brighton; Wood Green; Sutton Coldfield; Oldham; and Leicester.
