Rick Stein is back on BBC2 on Friday (November 11) at 9pm for part two of his cookery series.
In ‘Rick Stein’s Long Weekends ‘, the celebrity chef and restaurateur will embark on a series of culinary long weekends in European destinations in search of food excellence and brilliant recipes, heading to markets, restaurants, wineries, cafes and bars.
This 10-part series started in the spring, when Rick took viewers to Bordeaux, Berlin, Reykjavik, Bologna and Vienna. Five more programmes now follow, accompanied by a tie-in book featuring all 10 cities.
His fist port of call on Friday is Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, Rick is inspired to cook the city’s favourite snack: salt cod fritters, almond tart and pork with clams. With seafood at the forefront of his mind, he makes sure he arrives just in time for Lisbon’s St Anthony’s Day parade and sardine festival.
