In this week’s episode of hit BBC show ‘The Apprentice’, the contestants’ task is to take over part of world-famous London retailer Liberty.
The department store, on Regent Street in the capital’s West End, sells luxury goods including women’s, men’s and children’s fashion, cosmetics and fragrances, jewellery, accessories, housewares, furniture, stationery and gifts, and is known for its floral and graphic prints.
In episode four of series 12, which airs on Thursday at 9pm on BBC1, the teams have to introduce a new product line to promote and sell in the store. They must also run a personal-shopping service for some of London’s most discerning shoppers.
The Apprentice is a reality game show in which a group of aspiring businesswomen and men compete for the chance to win a £250,000 investment from business magnate Lord Alan Sugar, towards a business of the candidate’s creation, with Alan Sugar as a 50% owner.
Each week the budding entrepreneurs are divided into two teams – led by designated project managers – that are monitored under the watchful eyes of Lord Sugar’s advisor Baroness Karren Brady and aide Claude Littner.
After completing each task, the teams return to the boardroom to discuss their experiences and discover which side has triumphed.
The winners are rewarded with a treat while the losing team’s project manager must select two colleagues to accompany them back into the boardroom. Lord Sugar will then hear their arguments and fire at least one of them from the competition.
