A touch of gourmet gastronomy took place on Wednesday (May 22) on Merseyside, when Michelin-starred chef Raymond Blanc OBE officially opened a new state-of-the-art conference facility at the headquarters of Meyer Group.

A touch of gourmet gastronomy took place on Wednesday (May 22) on Merseyside, when Michelin-starred chef Raymond Blanc OBE officially opened a new state-of-the-art conference facility at the headquarters of Meyer Group.

Located on the top floor of the Meyer building at Riverview Road in Bromborough, the facilities boast the latest AV equipment, an executive dining room and a fully-kitted kitchen, where the chef demonstrated some of his own kitchen secrets to an audience of Meyer retailers.

During the demos Raymond also gave visitors a sneak preview of his new kitchenware collection, which he has designed in conjunction with Meyer Group Limited, and will be available in stores later in the year.

Communications manager Clare Mollart said: “Raymond is no stranger to the Wirral, because we have worked together for more than 16 years now designing kitchenware ranges together.

“Our relationship is unique in that Raymond plays a very active part in the design of all the products he puts his name to. In fact, we consider him part of the Meyer family now.”

Meyer’s managing director Bob Harrison also announced at the event how the company will be forging links with John Moores University Liverpool (JMU) to establish opportunities for its students to glean advice and expertise from Raymond Blanc and his team.
