Rainy Day Trust launches Christmas appeal

The Rainy Day Trust Christmas Appeal this year is a little different. They will still be sending out the food hampers and vouchers as usual, because those classic problems still need to be tackled – giving people that are struggling that little extra makes a world of difference. But this year, the Trust wants to really deal with the other issues that have become so prevalent in the last 18-24 months – social isolation and worry over electricity and gas bills.

So, on top of the food hampers, the Trust will be offering its ‘Let’s Save Energy’ pack to its long-term beneficiaries as well as working with them to be part of its mental health programmes at what is a really difficult time of year.

Bryan Clover said in a recent communication: “We would be chuffed to bits if you could be part of that Christmas Campaign and support what we are trying to achieve. We have set up a Just Giving page as in previous years, but you can also donate direct or send a cheque. You can run a Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 10 December 2021 and get everyone to come to work in a festive jumper and donate to the Charity. Or you could donate some stock for us to sell and raise the money that we need.

“The work that we are embarking on now is making an enormous difference to the people that it touches, and you can be part of that positive impact. There is a wealth of evidence out there now that shows that younger people, your customers, are taking ever-greater interest in how companies respond to their corporate social responsibility. So why not join in and shout it from the rooftops?”
