The Rainy Day Trust will be sending out hampers or food vouchers to long-term beneficiaries, but will also be sending regular food parcels to a whole new cadre of people that have been affected by Covid-19.
The virus has hit the charity sector hard, and it is expected that income will be down by about 43% at year-end on 31 December. Thousands of charities have already folded this year, with many more set to follow; the Rainy Day Trust are determined that they will not be one of them, but nothing is guaranteed.
Their Christmas Appeal this year is absolutely crucial to keep the charity running into 2021 and beyond.
“We have had to curtail some of our charitable activities already, which is something that no charity wants to do, but our long-term survival takes precedence. Who knows how long this second lockdown will last, and what the charity sector will look like this time next year.
“Please support our Christmas Appeal if you can, the link is below. We are the only charity serving the home improvement and home enhancement sector, so our beneficiaries have nowhere else to go for financial support.”
