Radiant Orchid is expected to flourish, following Pantone Colour Institute’s announcement revealing it as the Colour of the Year 2014.
The hue is already sparking the imagination of the design industry with many leading fashion designers incorporating the colour onto the catwalk with their Spring/ Summer 2014 collections.
Interior and homewares sectors are also embracing the trend, by designing vibrant products in the shade. One example is housewares supplier Brabantia, which has expanded its range with the introduction of a Radiant Orchid-inspired Signal Violet 45 litre Touch Bin (pictured).
David Slater, sales director at Brabantia, said: “Consumers are now much more aware of colour trends and are always looking for ways to update their home in a stylish and relevant way. With itsfuchsia, purple and pink undertone, Radiant Orchid is a fun and bold colour to use as an accent for bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms.”
