ProCook meets ‘record levels’ of demand

Multi-channel specialist housewares retailer ProCook has announced a strong sales performance for the three month period from October to December 2015.

The company, which operates 22 stores nationwide, posted an increase of 14% in like-for-like store sales and a rise in online sales of 26%. It noted that the design, development and introduction of new products, such as the Elite Tri-Ply range of cookware (pictured), played a key factor.

ProCook ceo Steve Sanders said the latest results continue the growth seen in the first half-year, with year-to-date sales up 16% in-store and 30% online: a blended increase in sales of 21%.

He commented: “The broadening of the range and the emphasis on quality and value is resulting in a very compelling offer. So much hard work has gone into delivering a strong sales performance across the shops and internet, and it’s great to see that we’ve been able to meet these record levels of demand”.

Further to the growth in 2015 ecommerce sales, ProCook earned two top prizes in the  Ecommerce Awards For Excellence 2015. The retailer beat off competition from the likes of Laura Ashley to scoop first place in the Best Home & Garden category, before adding a second gong as Multiplay eCommerce Company of the Year. The awards ceremony, which launched in 2008, is viewed as the benchmark for exceptional performance in online retail.

In addition, ProCook has been nominated for two awards (Britain’s Best Housewares Retail Website and Britain’s Best Multiple Housewares Retailer) in the upcoming Houseware Innovation Awards 2016, organised by www.HousewaresLive.net and Housewares Magazine.

ProCook, which originally began as a small, family-run business, is owned by Daniel O’Neill, who believes these figures show that ProCook is well placed to take advantage of a strengthening economy.

“We’re continuing to see increases in every area of the business, supported by growing consumer confidence,” he said.  “Our overall business model and sales message puts us in an excellent position to capitalise on the strengthening economy and, although cautious, increased consumer spending.”

Founded almost 20 years ago, ProCook supplies housewares for up for 50% less than other leading brands. It is headquartered in Gloucester and has stores throughout Britain.
