ProCook announces strong growth

Housewares chain ProCook has posted a like-for-like increase of 27% in sales for the first financial quarter, driven by strong performance right across the business.

The company, which has 22 stores nationwide, originally began almost 20 years ago as a small, family-run business. Headquartered in Gloucester, it is still owned and operated by managing director Daniel O’Neill. He believes the results are indicative of a resurgent and growing economy.

“We’ve seen better performance in all areas of the business with more customers coming through the doors and spending more when they do. Consumer confidence seems to be sky high and that’s got to be due to people having a bit more money in their pockets,” he said.

Steve Sanders, ProCook’s recently appointed ceo, added:“ProCook is rooted in developing and retailing excellent products at competitive prices to give customers real value. It’s great to see a lot of hard work right across the business translating into very encouraging Q1 figures. The market is highly competitive and the challenge will be to sustain this momentum going forward.”
