POPware stand wins trophy for RTA

Carl Saunders, business unit manager of RTA Wine Racks, was delighted to accept the Merchandise Mart trophy at this month’s Exclusively Housewares show.

POPware stand wins trophy for RTA

The award was made for the best point-of-sale display – the RTA POPware display stand.

“The spinner was designed to hold the whole range in a very space-efficient, simple display,” Saunders commented. “It fits into most retail display schemes, can hold up to 70 pieces and lets these very visually distinctive products do the rest! It has been a very effective introduction to the range for lots of customers.”

RTA, which recently merged with G W International, has held the exclusive licence for POPware in the UK and Eire for the past three years, and started with just four items in the range. That has now grown to 10 pieces, including an over-the-sink cutting board with removable strainer, colander, jug, funnel and silicone utensils set.

This is the third year the Merchandise Mart feature, an area of wall and island display units where suppliers present their latest in-store merchandise ideas, has run at Exclusively Housewares.

The feature is sponsored by the International Housewares Association and its Global Innovators Award scheme. BHETA housewares director Pam Plant and visiting retailers were asked to judge the displays.

The POPware stand was particularly popular because it was small enough to stand next to a till point as a special promotion, but still large enough to hold an entire range.
