Pleaseandthankyou.co.uk corrects ‘discounter’ label

The publishers of the new pleaseandthankyou.co.uk website have corrected a number of inaccuracies in a story about the site that appeared on HousewaresLive.net last month – in particular the statement that it will sell at discount prices.
The site went live on April 1, and not earlier, as implied, and is a collaborative venture by four former employees of Wrapit, the wedding list firm that went into administration last year. They are Peter Gelardi, his son Nicholas Gelardi, Shaleen Hudda and Emilie-Kate Owen.

Nicholas Gelardi was not involved in running Wrapit, as we stated in the original story, but was Wrapit’s web designer, while Peter Gelardi was managing director.

The new website is not a wedding list business and it is not possible to use the Wish List facility so that others can buy you gifts. The wish list is in fact an aide-memoire for people who see things they like but choose not to buy them at that moment. It can only be seen if you are logged in as the wish list creator.

In addition the website’s magazine is not twice-monthly, as stated, but each edition comes out on the first of the month.

Finally, the website publishers say that they are not discounters, and will sell at recommended retail prices – although the site will have a small Bargain Basement.

The site’s editor, Emilie-Kate Owen, told HousewaresLive.net: “I’m delighted that the please&thankyou website has now gone live. Many suppliers who we knew from Wrapit are supporting us and we expect to develop our supplier base and product range further over the next few months. We’re particularly proud of the P&T Lifestyle magazine, which we believe will be the please&thankyou USP.”
