Pendeford products get WI approval

Cookware and bakeware from Pendeford Housewares has been given the official seal of approval from the Women’s Institute.

The organisation spent six months testing Pendeford’s ranges, which now carry the prestigious WI brand. They will be on show at next month’s Spring Fair.

Founded in 1915, the WI now has 7,000 branches and over 210,000 members throughout the UK who meet regularly and have their own magazine. Home cooking is a passion for the WI, and it also runs its own Denman Cookery School to encourage home cooking and enjoyment of quality food.

Last year the WI extended its awareness by launching a range of WI-branded jams, chutneys and biscuits, which it describes as “the closest thing to homemade”. To promote home cooking it also has its own brand of flour.

The WI says all products awarded its brand must hold true to the finest traditions of British cooking and baking.
