Six out of the current top 10 best-selling non-fiction hardback books are cookery titles written by celebrities.
Top billing is taken by Paul Hollywood’s ‘Bread’. Following his hugely successful ‘How To Bake’ book (which is at ninth place in the book chart), the artisan baker and star judge of the BBC hit show ‘The Great British Bake Off”s top seller is dedicated to bread making.
The number five spot is held The Hairy Bikers’ Great Curries by Si King and Dave Myers. It’s followed in sixth place by ‘Jamie’s 15-Minute Meals’ by Jamie Oliver.
At number eight is ‘It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes that Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great’ by actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Julia Turshen
Next is Paul Hollywood’s aforementioned ‘How To Bake’. And at number 10 is ‘Mary Berry At Home’ by Mary Berry and Lucy Young.
The book chart is complied by Nielsen Bookscan TCM, which collates real time sales from over 6,500 outlets representing over 90% of the UK book market. It appeared in the April 21 issue of ‘The Mail on Sunday’s’ ‘Event’ magazine.
