Paul Hollywood bakes his way round the world in new show

Paul Hollywood is back on the small screen on Monday April 18, with a new series which airs at 9pm on Food Network UK.

‘Paul Hollywood City Bakes’ follows the celebrity baker across Europe and North America as he explores the recipes that have shaped the baking heritage of 10 cities.

In the opening double bill of the 10-part series, the judge of BBC1’s ‘The Great British Bake Off’ travels to New York and Paris visiting local bakeries, meeting the bakers who work there and learning about different trends. The other destinations are Copenhagen, Munich, Miami, London, Madrid, St Petersburg, Naples and Warsaw.

In a trailer for the show, Paul said that he will be “touring the world’s culinary capitals, exploring their heritage, tasting local treats – and getting a real feel for the inspiration behind the passion that drives me baking”. He will uncover family recipes, hotel delicacies and local favourites before adding his own ‘Hollywood twist’ to a classic.

Richard Farmbrough, ceo of production company Reef Television, commented: “Spending time with Paul on his ‘City Bakes’ mission will be a real treat for audiences around the world, as they get to see a different side of this baking megastar from the man we know from ‘Bake Off’. Reef is delighted to be working with Paul on this mouth-watering project.”

Paul added: “Food culture can reveal so much about a nation, so it’s a privilege to be able to delve into the lives of fellow bakers and discover some really amazing international bakes.”
