PackIt brand makes US headlines

Inc. Magazine’s annual Inc. 500 list of ‘America’s fastest growing private companies’ was released last month – and PackIt debuted at number 28. In addition, PackIt was named number one fastest growing woman-led business of 2014.

Melissa Keiling created PackIt in 2009 due to her frustration of ice packs being lost at school and her kids’ packed lunches being wasted. PackIt is a freezable bag cooler that keeps food and drinks cold for up to 10 hours (with no need for ice packs). The user places it in the freezer overnight, pulls it out in the morning, packs it and goes.

Following the announcement of PackIt’s achievement in the Inc. 500 list, Melissa was invited to appear on US TV station CNBC’s business news programme ‘Squawk Box’. The presenters were keen to hear about how Melissa had grown her business so rapidly (and how she managed to get Cameron Diaz to use the product; the American actress reportedly loves it, along with other celebrities too).

Over the past five years, the PackIt range has grown to include a wide range of cool bags, which are distributed in the UK by Burton McCall. Prices start from £18.99 and go up to £33.99.
