The fledging business, which celebrates its second anniversary next month, started life in a 800sq ft two-storey unit in Victoria Cross Gallery, just off the Market Place in the town centre.

Co-owners Geoff Peck and Theresa Elgar moved to a new address on the weekend of March 16-17, and opened the doors on Monday March 18.

The Creative Cook Shop’s new home is at 8 Mill Street: a busy road leading into the Market Place.

Theresa said the business was repositioned “for the greater visibility to passing traffic and pedestrians, with the hope of increased footfall”.

She added: “Being a single storey shop, this premises is slightly smaller than before – but much better for layout.”

The couple will be decreasing some lines such as tableware but boosting their offering of bakeware & icing equipment with “an area dedicated totally to everything cake decorating”. They intend to run more cake decorating courses, host more product demos, increase their cake tin hire service “and hopefully start a Baking Club”.

The store is also taking part in an Indie Easter Egg Hunt in the town from now until Sunday April 14.
