Oxford Summer School launches 2014 prospectus

Oxford Summer School (OSS) has launched its 2014 prospectus and confirmed course dates for its Foundation, Academy and Masters programmes.

The OSS Masters, ‘Understanding Your Marketing and Developing Strategies’, will take place from March 10 – 13 at Said Business School in Oxford.

Aimed at directors or owners within smaller independents, or senior store managers, regional managers and those in line for the boardroom at larger retailers, the Masters programme takes delegates beyond the day-to-day issues of running a business and stretches them in a challenging yet supportive environment.

The OSS Foundation, ‘Understanding Yourself’, takes place from July 28 – August 1 at St Catherine’s College in Oxford. This programme is designed to build confidence and competence in the first line retail manager, enabling delegates to build the skills vital to ensuring their team delivers to its organisation’s standards, targets and expectations.

The OSS Academy, ‘Understanding the Business,’ runs from August 16-22 at Keble College in Oxford. Concentrating on five key areas – people, money, marketing, merchandise and retail space – the course challenges delegates to consider how they can more successfully affect the environment in which they work, to influence the commercial performance of their part of the company.

Oxford Summer School managing director Dominic Prendergast said: “Oxford Summer School has built a reputation for developing exceptional management and leadership in the retail industry for over 90 years. Our courses are devised by retailers for retailers, and every year we welcome the biggest names in our sector either as delegates, tutors or keynote speakers.”

Previous keynote speakers at Oxford Summer School have included Justin King, ceo at J Sainsburys; Joseph Wan, ceo at Harvey Nichols; Laura Wade-Gery, executive director, multi-channel e-commerce Marks & Spencer; and Nick Robertson, co-founder of ASOS.

An early bird rate for the OSS Masters is available on all bookings received before December 31. To find out more visit www.oxfordsummerschool.co.uk or call 01295 713391.
