Housewares retailers wanting to improve their knowledge of or get the best out of online trading and social media will want to make tracks for a new feature at next year’s Spring Fair International.

Launching at the 2013 exhibition is the Ecommerce and Social Media Theatre in Hall 12, which aims to answer all questions relating to building online start-ups, online marketing, multi-channel retailing and developing an e-commerce strategy. Leading industry figures will be on hand to offer expert technical guidance on harnessing the web to grow business.
Technology will also be helping buyers navigate their way around the massive show, with the launch of a new app – and show organiser i2i says it wants to encourage more cross-over buying at the show, with buyers visiting halls they might not normally include in their schedule.
The key destination for housewares buyers will once again be Hall 1, hosting Kitchen, Dining & Housewares, and where the popular CookLive! feature is being repeated. Here, professional and celebrity chefs will be demonstrating the latest kitchen and dining products within an interactive kitchen.
Also in Hall 1 will be The Trend Box, a new product display offering insight into future kitchen, dining and housewares trend directions, provided by trend expert WGSN. And visitors can also see The Next Big Thing Design Awards Showcase, on stand 1C66. The finalists’ products will be on display and the winners of the 2013 awards – which celebrate kitchen innovation – will be chosen and presented at the show.
Hall 6 – housing Contemporary Gift & Home along with Hall 7 – will offer even more trend predictions, with its Trend Briefing & Seminar Theatre guiding audiences through the hottest new design looks for autumn/winter 2014. And the Trend Bar will be the central feature of these two halls.
Spring Fair 2013 takes place February 3 to 7 at Birmingham’s NEC, where, from Easter 2015, a new casino, shopping mall and spa will launch alongside the exhibition halls.
