New trade show for British brands to expand into US

A new trade show has been launched in the US for British homeware and gift brands to gain access to the American market.

The event, which is backed by UK exhibition organiser Upper Street Events, will be co-located with LA Fashion Market, and takes place from March 13 to March 14 at LA in California

Source British’ will provide a platform for UK brands across homeware, gifts, fashion, accessories and footwear to access the US market and meet buyers from across the West Coast, Mid-West and wider USA.

The organiser said: ‘The unique selling points of British heritage, high quality craftsmanship and innovation in design provide huge opportunities for British brands.

‘LA Fashion Market already has access to 4,000 US buyers and distributors. Research to this audience showed a strong desire for a British trade show in the market, with 97% stating they would want to attend.

Several British brands have already confirmed their support for the event including Molly Mac Living, Yellow Barley Limited (Love Jars), The Cheeky Monkey Company, Owen Barry, Jolly Awesome, Peak & Brim Designer Hats, Nadia Minkoff, Animo Glass and Sarah Greaves Limited.

Event Director Olivett Asare commented: “Many US buyers want to trade in sterling post-Brexit as the rates are more in their favour – a great benefit for businesses wanting to export to the US now. They want British brands with provenance and a strong brand story.

“This two-day event has been designed to give British brands a simple and affordable exhibition format to access and expand into the US market.”
