Hello readers, and welcome to the January/February issue of Housewares!
We had a somewhat rocky start to the year – the rapid rise of the Omicron variant in December led to the first major trade show of the year, Ambiente, being cancelled – necessary, but a blow nonetheless to everyone in the industry that was looking forward to reuniting after two years. Luckily, mass booster drives saw rates go down in time for the industry to gather in Birmingham for a fantastic Spring Fair. It was the first trade show for the new Housewares team since starting on the magazine – and in fact the first time we’d met each other in person! The wonders of modern working. It was great to meet members of the trade face-to-face, and invaluable to really see and understand the products and ranges up close and personal. For this industry, there’s really no substitute.
