Roger Boissier is to stand down from his position as chairman at Royal Crown Derby.
He will be succeeded in the role by Hugh Gibson, who will also retain his position as chief executive. Seventy-seven-year-old Boissier will remain on the board as a non-executive director.
Royal Crown Derby, the oldest and only branded manufacturer producing bone china exclusively in England, became an independent company in July 2000.
Paying tribute to Boissier, Gibson said: “Roger helped to guide us through the tortuous period of negotiation leading up to the buyout…he has been tireless in his promotion of the company’s wellbeing.”
