Mystery man's identity revealed!

The gentleman was seen removing a certificate given to Pendeford Housewares for its achievement in reaching the finals of the Housewares Innovation Awards 2015. Pendeford Housewares has been shortlisted in the Kitchenware Innovation Award category for its Bubba personal flasks and sports drinking bottles.

The chap in question has been identified as Geoff Hounslea, sales director of fellow housewares supplier JWP, which has been shortlisted in the same category for its Good2Go range of collapsible silicone containers.

Geoff later returned the certificate, which is being held aloft in the picture by Pendeford Housewares managing director Ralph Humphries, who is seen giving the victory salute.

Pendeford Housewares took the prank in good part. National sales and marketing manager Patrick Winters said: “Pendeford and JWP are the best of friends. We often wind each other up and by sending the photo of the ‘mystery man’ to www.HousewaresLive.net we were just trying to share the fun we all had with any one who wanted to join in.”

He added: “Pendeford will not be pressing charges against this Harry Hill lookalike ‘thief’. We look forward to his next prank, and would like to remind him that it’s his round. After all, All’s (Trade) Fair in Love and aWARds!

“Pendeford and JWP are both finalists in the Housewares Innovation Awards and are looking forward to the event, which is another great opportunity to mix business with pleasure.”

The results of the Awards will be revealed at The Housewares Innovation Awards ceremony, which takes place in the evening of April 22 at Wokefield Park near Reading in Berkshire. Organised by Housewares Magazine and www.HousewaresLive.net, the annual event is now in its sixth year. Please see www.housewaresconference.co.uk for more information. The Box Office is now open, with a reduced price if you book your place at The Housewares Conference, held during the day, and your ticket for the Housewares Innovation Awards at the same time. A further discounted price for retailers is also available. For details, contact Laurie Marrington on lmarrington@datateam.co.uk.
