My Kitchen Rules UK airs next month

A new cookery series called ‘My Kitchen Rules UK’ is set to begin airing on Channel 4 on October 3 at 5-6pm.

The news was revealed on the website of Michelin star restaurateur Michael Caines MBE, who will co-host and -judge the show with food writer Prue Leith CBE.

Michael said: “‘My Kitchen Rules’ will unearth some of Britain’s best amateur cooks in a format that is challenging, highly competitive and entertaining.”

During the series, Michael and Prue will judge entrepreneurial amateur cooking duos hoping to take home a top prize of £10,000 by convincing the judges that their home cooking is up to restaurant standard.

In the competitive elimination format, 16 pairs of amateur cooks will create pop-up restaurants in their own homes, where they will prepare a menu of dishes for Michael and Prue and their rival contestants to critique.

The series is based on the knock-out success of Australia’s ‘My Kitchen Rules’, which holds the top spot as the country’s number one show on Seven Network.

Prue Leith and Michael Caines are the hosts and co-judges of Channel 4’s ‘My Kitchen Rules UK’
