Michelin star chef Tom Kitchin, one of the fastest rising stars of the British culinary scene, has launched his first ever housewares range.
Born out of demand from diners at Tom’s multi-award winning Edinburgh restaurant, the Kitchin homeware collection comprises a selection of kitchen knives, cookware and woodware.
Tom and his wife Michaela have collaborated with product design house Blueprint to create a range that they would both use at home when cooking for their family.
Tom Kitchin said: “I’m consistently asked for advice and tips on creating simple, yet great quality dishes at home, and this project felt like a natural progression. Good cooking comes from the basics and for me that’s using the best, fresh, seasonal quality produce and the best tools.
“Michaela and I have been involved every step of the way. We wanted to ensure the quality, manufacture and design met my own high standards – and indeed my wife’s! The result is a range we genuinely want to use in our own home kitchen and hope that other home cooks will allow the products to inspire their own cooking.”
Rob Picot of Blueprint added: “Tom is quite rightly famous for his total commitment to quality and excellence. He inspires so many people with his cooking and the aim of these Kitchin products is to continue to allow diners and followers to share his passion for food and cooking.”
Kitchin homeware is aimed at ambitious home cooks and is based on the principles of high quality specification and manufacture, functionality and design.
The second phase of Kitchin products will see dinnerware and stainless steel cutlery ranges introduced in the Autumn.
