Meyer and Dexam have been confirmed as the first two suppliers to host demonstration sessions at the 2014 CHA (Cookshop & Housewares Association) Independents’ Day.
The event, which will take place at Eckington Manor Cookery School on March 24, aims to bring retailers and suppliers together for ‘a fun-filled day of product training, cooking and networking’.
Dexam, which took part in this year’s Independents’ Day held in June, will focus on products from its Chef’ n brand, which will be launched in the months running up to the event. Retailers will be advised on how to best sell these items and will be given the opportunity to test them first hand while preparing specially designed recipes.
Presenting the session will be Chef’n European sales manager David Alvarez and Dexam managing director Roger Morgan-Grenville. Roger said: “The session we held at the last CHA Independents’ Day was great fun and we found that the opportunity to present our products directly to members of the sales team was invaluable, which is why I’m very much looking forward to the 2014 event.”
Meyer will present items from its new Raymond Blanc ranges during a cookery demonstration, using some of the chef’s own recipes. Retailers will be given the chance to take part so they can fully appreciate the features and benefits of cooking with the products.
The Raymond Blanc portfolio cuts across all major product categories including hard anodised and cast aluminium cookware, bakeware, knives, utensils and an acacia wood food preparation range.
Meyer field sales manager Martin Davison said: “The new Raymond Blanc cookware range will be great to present at this event because the retailers will see just how high quality these products are when using them to cook recipes themselves.”
More sponsors will be announced soon. Places are limited and sold on a first come first serve basis. For details, go to www.bira.co.uk/independents-day
