Melitta to launch London pop up shop

Coffee specialist Melitta will launch its first ever pop up shop from Monday March 25 to March 29 in London.

The shop will be housed in the illuminated tunnels of Old Street Underground, which the company claims is ‘the world’s first tube station dedicated to innovative retail and immersive brand experiences’.

The unit will be transformed into a ‘coffee lover’s paradise’ showcasing some of Melitta’s bean to cup and filter coffee machines as well as its pour over offering. The Melitta Coffee Pop Up Lounge will be open from 7.30am to 7pm each day.

The brand will also be hosting some free events during ‘the week. Highlights include a special appearance by health and fitness specialist and personal trainer Harry Jameson on March 27 from 6.30pm to 8pm, and two visits from actress and expert barista Celeste Wong. On Thursday March 28 from 6.30pm to 8pm she will teach the art of making ‘the perfect pour over coffee’ and on March 29 from 6.30pm to 8pm she will show how to make, serve and drink a Mocha-nut coffee-based cocktail.

To tie in with Melitta’s 111th anniversary, proceeds from coffee sales will be donated to St Luke’s Community Centre: a charity which aims to help alleviate poverty, social problems and poor health in the heart of EC1 by offering various services.
