Mary Berry: still at number one in book chart

The celebrated cookery book author and star of TV’s ‘The Great British Bake Off’ has just finished presenting her own BBC2 six-part series. Entitled ‘Mary Berry Cooks’, the focus of the show was on home cooking. Her book of the same name features a collection of 100 new recipes, including Mary’s menus for each episode of the show.

At number five in the book chart is ‘Honestly Healthy for Life’: a collection of more than new 100 nutritious recipes created by gourmet vegetarian chef Natasha Corrett and nutritionist Vicki Edgson.

‘Cake Recipe Collection: Volume 1’ is in sixth place, followed by ‘Hairy Bikers’ Asian Adventure’ in seventh position. Also a BBC TV tie-in, this book follows celebrity chefs Si King and Dave Myers as they tour Asia to find the best authentic dishes, with recipes from Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and Korea.

Finally, ‘The Hummingbird Bakery Home Sweet Home’ by Tarek Malouf is in ninth place, offering over 100 new recipes that celebrate home baking.

The list is compiled by Nielsen Bookscan TCM, which collates real time sales from over 6,500 retailers representing over 90% of the UK book market. It appears in the April 13 issue of ‘The Mail on Sunday’s’ ‘Event’ Magazine.
