MAKE International joins the Forma House family

Housewares supplier Forma House has signed a deal to distribute MAKE international across the UK from January 2020.

The brand joins a diverse portfolio of ranges under the Forma umbrella including Sagaform, Eva Solo, Zuperzozial and Dreamfarm.

Forma House business development manager Simon Maghnagi said: “We’re thrilled to be taking over the distribution of MAKE International here in the UK and look forward to building on the team’s work over the coming months. [MAKE International] Head of Design Keith Brymer Jones really is the best of British, producing the most beautiful of ceramics, and we’re proud to be [the company’s] distribution partner of choice.’

Dominic Speelman, founder and managing director of MAKE International, added: “Forma House has adapted and succeeded in a very tough and competitive landscape. The team has the passion, drive and vision which it will need to make further strides in this competitive market. We are both excited and confident, and very much looking forward to being part of its success going forward.”

MAKE International was established in 2005 by Dominic Speelman and joined forces with renowned ceramicist Keith Brymer Jones in 2008. He continues to throw every shape in all of the ceramic ranges produced by MAKE International on his potter’s wheel at his studio: a converted bakery at Whitstable in Kent. He then works with MAKE International’s product supervisors in China to sample the products on the factory floor.

To celebrate the new partnership, Forma House will formally launch the brand into its portfolio on its stand (E15 in the HOME zone) at London trade show Top Drawer, held from January 12 to January 14 in Olympia.

During the event, it will host a competition to win a day’s private pottery class at Keith’s studio in Kent. To enter, Forma House customers need to place an opening order at the show (with a minimum value of £300 ex-vat) for MAKE International products

Simon commented: “This is an incredible opportunity for one of our customers to win a day to truly remember with one of the UK’s most renowned ceramicists. We look forward to welcoming everybody to our stand to view the latest collections by Keith and the MAKE International team. Good luck everybody!’
