National Baking Week has kicked off, with a host of events and incentives to encourage people across the country to get into their kitchens.
Running from October 15-21, the event has a dedicated website, www.nationalbakingweek.co.uk, from where home bakers can download a free pack of everything they will need to hold their own bake sale, including a poster, invitations, bunting, pricing cards and tips on organising and promoting the sale. Funds raised are intended to go to the Great Ormond Street Hospital charity.
National Baking Week sponsors Pyrex and Kenwood have also organised competitions, with prizes of Pyrex bakeware, accessories and a stand mixer.
In addition, the website offers a host of baking recipes from starters to desserts, and also has sections for baking with children and baking for Halloween.
Along with housewares brands Pyrex and Kenwood, high-profile sponsors of National Baking Week are Allinson Flour, Silver Spoon, Stork, Billington’s and Just Milk.
