Lords ‘thrilled’ by CHA Retailer of the Year win

London housewares chain Lords has commented on being crowned Cookshop & Housewares Association (CHA) Retailer of the Year 2016.

The CHA is the national trade association for independent cookshop and housewares retailers in the UK. It is a specialist division of the British Independent Retailers Association (bira).

Lords beat off competition from five finalists: Abraxas Cookshop, with branches in Weedon, Northamptonshire; Rugby, Warwickshire; Banbury, Oxfordshire; and Northampton, Northamptonshire; Barnitts of York department store; Loose’s Cookshop of Norwich in Norfolk; Potters Cookshop of Hockley in Essex and Trevor Mottram cookshop of Tunbridge Wells in Kent

Lords is a family-owned business, run by two sisters: brand director Rita Dewan and product director Rachna Dewan.

They operate six stores in and around London. Their flagship opened in Holland Park in 2013 and was followed by branches in Westbourne Grove, Hampstead, Northcote Road (Battersea), St Johns Wood and Chorleywood.

Rita Dewan told www.HousewaresLive.net: “We are truly honoured to be recognised for this award. It is only with the support of a brilliant team that we are able to bring our vision alive. Thank you CHA. We are thrilled!”

The news was announced at the Excellence in Housewares Awards. Held at the London Lancaster hotel on Wednesday October 5, the event was organised by ‘Progressive Housewares’ magazine, in conjunction with the CHA.
